About the SEND strategy
We have developed this Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Strategy to ensure that we have an agreed vision across the city and our partnerships so that children and young people with SEND have the right support, at the right time, delivered by the right people.
In developing this strategy we have worked with families, children and young people across the area to identify the priorities and improvements that are important to them and incorporated these into the strategy.
- Priority One – Nothing about us without us
- Priority Two – Part of the community
- Priority Three – High aspirations and preparation for the future
- Priority Four – Identify and assess early
- Priority Five – Skilled and knowledgeable professionals
We would value feedback from across the communities in Stoke-on-Trent on the priorities and improvements included in the strategy so that we have been confident that we have correctly identified what is important to the people, families, children and young people in Stoke-on-Trent and that this strategy sets out the right road map for SEND services.
